West Rhône-Alpes Public Land Agency
EPORA is a public corporation specialised in land management, working to serve local authority projects. It is one of twelve state-regulated Public Land Agencies (EPF) that have been set up to date. It is run by a Board of Direction that is largely made up of local elected representatives. Its Managing Director, who is appointed by the government, manages a team of 30 professionals.
Our responsibilities
EPORA implements public land policies by purchasing land and real estate and by carrying out operations to facilitate the subsequent use of land. It works within the framework of agreements signed with the government, the local authorities or their organisations. Its initiatives are part of long-term action plans, adopted by the board of direction, which establish the acquisition targets aimed especially at providing housing for all and at developing the region on the economic front.
Epora’s work meets sustainable development objectives by giving preference to land recycling (reusing previously developed land) and by thereby contributing to town planning that requires less space and less travelling.
